MONSTA X's Minhyuk has made his solo debut with the digital single "Reaching" — a sweet pop-rock ballad built around love and the deep connections that hold people together. It's a softer, more intimate turn for one of K-pop's most energetic performers, and the kind of moment that's a joy to watch from artists we've been lucky to know for years.

The track was penned and composed by K-indie singer-songwriter Hyun-sang Ha, who wrote it with Minhyuk and his fans specifically in mind — hoping, as the title suggests, that those sentiments would reach him. Minhyuk's soft yet husky vocals weave through electric guitar riffs, steady drums, and acoustic melodies, landing on a sound that feels both yearning and sincere.

Its "boyfriend-coded" music video sets Minhyuk in a tranquil forest with his guitar — a window into a gentler, more emotional side of the idol that fans have been waiting to hear. "Reaching" is out now on all major streaming platforms.

The release was covered by Forbes in a feature by contributor Laura Sirikul, published June 19, 2026.

Why it matters to us

MONSTA X has been central to this team's story since 2018 — the first K-pop act on the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, the first at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, a top-five Billboard 200 debut, and the first K-pop project Maverick Management ever took on. Watching a member of that group find a new creative voice on his own terms is exactly the kind of long arc we care about.

Eshy Gazit is a Partner at Maverick Management and the founder of Intertwine Records. He is a two-time Billboard International Power Player who has worked with MONSTA X since 2018, between New York, Los Angeles, and Seoul.
